Today out of the blue my three-year old started singing out “The 12 Days of Christmas”. I bring you her version of the song, as best I could catch it:
“On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
All those drummers drumming,
Ten swimmers swimming,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight pipers piping,
Seven geese of laying,
Six geese of laying,
FIVE GOLDEN RIIIIIINGS!
Four calling birds,
Three friendships,
Two turtleducks,
And a partridge in a bear tree!
Woot woot!”
The omission of one of the days piqued our curiosity. “What about the eleventh day, sweetie?”
She didn’t hesitate in her response. “How about cats?”
